The CellEdit32 ActiveX control may be used, without charge, in any application that is capable of hosting ActiveX controls.  Before you can use your application for anything other than testing and debugging of the application itself, you must send email to the author at maurer@csee.usf.edu describing your application.  If your application is an executable, it must use a standard installation program, and you must provide a copy of the installation files to the author free of charge.  If the application is a web page, you must provide the author with a link to the page containing the CellEdit32 ActiveX control.  You must distribute your application free of charge.  The author of the CellEdit32 ActiveX control reserves the right to distribute your application through the world-wide-web, or to provide links to it through his own website.  You will be given full credit for your work.   Commercial applications must add significant Intellectual Property over and above the CellEdit32 ActiveX control. The owners of such applications must receive permission in writing from the author before distributing their applications, or allowing their applications to be distributed.  This includes shareware applications. The CellEdit32 ActiveX control must be distributed without license or other restrictions.

The CellEdit ActiveX control is the brain of Cell Editor application, both the web version, and the independent program.  Most User-Iterface events, such as Cut, Paste, Opening a Library, and Saving a Cell, are handled by the control.  The purpose of the user interface is to transmit the appropriate commands to the control.  The control window is used to visually position objects in the cell.  However, any action that can be done by the user through the control window can also be accomplished by sending the appropriate commands to the CellEdit32 control.  Examples of these actions are moving a port, selecting a port, positioning the name, and positioning the gate-type.  In addition to being used as a cell editor, the control can also be used to create demonstration programs and tutorial web pages.  These tools can be used to illustrate the editing process through the use of drawing scripts and interactive controls.  For a description of the control's capabilities, see the following.
